Police here are looking for a man believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting

Police here are looking for a man believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting that damaged a mobile home and a vehicle near 1700 West and 2700 North Friday afternoon.

Pleasant View police officer Jason Allen said the suspect fired between six and nine shots, three of which struck a home that had three people inside at the time. Another bullet struck a car parked near the home. No one was injured in the shooting, however.

Allen said both the alleged shooter and one of the people inside the residence, at Wasatch View Estates, are believed to be members of the same Ogden gang.

The residents of the home were heading home from Ogden when there was an altercation between them and the female driver of another vehicle. They also reported to have been followed by that vehicle prior to the shooting.

"She makes a phone call and 15 minutes later a silver pickup truck drives by and fires some rounds into the home," Allen said.

A female resident of the mobile home was sitting outside when the truck made an initial pass by the house and a passenger brandished a gun, according to police. She warned the two other people who were on the property. The truck then drove by again and a man fired the shots.

"They saw the truck coming and made it inside to take cover," Allen said. "We believe that (they) knew what the truck was and who they were coming for."

Allen said it wasn't clear why the alleged shooter targeted a member of his own gang. There were several neighborhood witnesses present who were able to provide street names and descriptions of the individuals to police.

"We've got some pretty good leads, we'll just investigate and hope we find out who did it and take care of the problem," Allen said. "We have a lot of kids out here, a lot of neighbors, so we're fortunate that nobody was injured."
